Hello
and welcome.
This is the web site of Brian Waite and is set up to assist
those who wish to contact me for whatever reason.
I have produced many cars in my working life, so it may be
that you have one.

I started with a, so-called,
apprenticeship at Aston Martin where I was cheap labour in the Racing
and Development (many stories – many many stories!!)
In my spare time I worked
for Brabham race cars (before and just after they were named Brabham).
At the same time worked on all the cars driven by Frank Gardner.
Next I became development
engineer for the Willment racing team and was responsible for the
Willment Daytona Cobra, the 2litre BRM engine Willment sports car,
the 7litre Fiat bodied Cobra and the ongoing development of all
the team cars until the team was disbanded. I then moved to a branch
of Willment Ford dealerships and produced all the various race and
rally cars for them. These were for the manager Mike Crabtree to
drive as well as many customer drivers and exports. The “Who”
sponsored rally escort being one of many.
I produced five electric
powered prototype cars for Sir John Samuel – later AVS (on
the promise of getting to design the production version!!)
At about the same time
I had an alcohol inspired idea for the Outspan driveable oranges
and ended up producing seven. I still have the prototype and one
“production” version – both waiting for renovation.
One went to South Africa and, I believe, is in a museum. There is
one at Beaulieu motor museum with the rest, presumably, still with
the Outspan Company.
The next major invention
was the “Car chair” system (www.carchair.co.uk).
Spawned 16 Patents. Very proud of this design but my role in
the company I set up to produce it was ended prematurely by
a vindictive (now ex) wife. |

Since then I have been
involved with medieval buildings and that has led directly to developing
a new ecologically friendly house of straw (www.strawbalehouse.co.uk).
The patent office has
granted a design registration so who knows where it will lead? Hopefully
to cheap to build cheap to run starter homes, small workshops, intimate
art galleries etc etc.
